WILLEMSTAD, JUNE 2019. McDonald’s hosted a special Happy Family Day on Saturday June 8th where families learnt about responsible pet adoption and had the opportunity to take home a new furry friend; thanks to the partnership with Rescue Paws Curacao and I-animal; for The Secret Life of Pets 2 Happy Meal, which feature the characters from the second installment of the popular animated film.

Families can also sponsor a dog from Rescue Paws Curacao Foundation.

As part of this campaign, McDonald’s also committed to sponsor “Bunita”, a 3-year-old stray dog recently rescued by Rescue Paws Curacao; organization that also offers this alternative for dogs that will be difficult to get adopted because of their age, size or conditions.

Currently, Rescue Paws Curacao has many dogs in this situation, and can benefit from sponsorships to cover food, medical expenses and the regular care they receive at the shelter, where these dogs will live for the rest of their lives.

“We’re so excited to welcome Bunita to McDonald’s family. Although she can’t live with us, we are contributing to cover her needs at Rescue Paws Curacao and helping her to be safe and happy at the shelter” said McDonald’s representatives in Curacao. “We’ll be checking out how Bunita is doing in her new home”.

For Rescue Paws Curacao, dog sponsorships are also a way to help rescued dogs, offering people -willing to help but unable to adopt- the alternative to cover its basic needs at the shelter.
