WILLEMSTAD.- After the theft of almost 600 kilos of drugs from a police station, detectives and other police services went on strike because they felt their safety was in danger. This action started last Monday but finally an agreement was reached and it was signed.

The signing took place within the police corps with the presence of the Minister of Justice and the unions that represent the police workers. The signing took place in silence and the presence of the press was not allowed.

When the strike started, the union wanted the representatives of the press to be present at all times so they could give their statements. Yesterday however, when the press learned about the agreement and tried to be presents during this signing, the media was informed that their presence was not appreciated.

Information that EXTRA could gather was that Monday all the police services will function normally again after they reached an agreement with the Minister of Justice to guarantee the safety of the police. It seems, they still have some points to solve and fix but Monday everyone will be back at work.
