WILLEMSTAD.-The Central Bank of Curacao and Sint Martin acting president Mr. Bob Traa has resigned due to personal circumstances. He communicated this in writing to the Supervisory Board of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Martin (SB) on 28th November 2019. The Supervisory Board regrets, but respects Mr. Traa’s decision.

In the short time that he held the position of President of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten, Mr. Traa has meant a lot to the Bank. For example, has given more substance to the elaboration of macroeconomic issues with specific attention to the specificities of each of the countries of Curaçao and Sint Martin thanks to his broad knowledge and experience.

Through his management style, he managed to bring colleagues from the different disciplines together and involve them in the decision-making process. He knew how to handle the many challenges the Bank is facing. He dealt with colleagues in a friendly manner and with respect.

Mr. Traa will resign from his position on 31st December 2019. There will be communication about his succession at a later date. The Supervisory Board wishes Mr. Traa success in his further career.
