WILLEMSTAD.- The theft of vehicles is also a problem and a huge concern for the community. The decline that began at the end of 2017 continued, this even at lower levels than previous years.

A drastic drop is the prediction and will reach a total of 191 at the end of the year 2018, compared to 415 at the end of 2017. It is remarkable to report, that the same brand of vehicles is susceptible to theft. This is an indication that the there is a demand for the same vehicles stolen by the criminals

INDOCUMENTED PEOPLE REPORTED

In addition to all these problems that the police have to attend to, the problem of undocumented persons on our island is also of great concern. However, the highest level that we had known in 2017 is0 leveling out.

In the first half of 2018 (until August 2018) a total of 542 undocumented persons of Venezuelan nationality were deported. Although it should be said that after the month of August until now, police have continued to detain several more undocumented people. The number of undocumented people who were detained both men and women are almost equal. Even minors were detained who arrived on the island via boat. “In the last months of this year we will continue working hard to address this problem in Curaçao.”
