The 19-year-old made an immediate impact from the right, driving forward but showing maturity when the opening failed to emerge, reversing and neatly laying the ball off to maintain possession.
If Solskjaer’s time at Old Trafford is brief, he could leave a lasting legacy by helping the likes of Chong to take big steps in their development as United aim to construct a title-winning side in the years ahead.
