NASKHO presents in collaboration with Fundashon
Prevenshon and the Academic Medical Center
(Amsterdam) a virtual meeting entitled:
Colorectal Cancer Screening
This will take place on Saturday November 28th from 16:00 till 19:00 and will be

Colorectal cancer is the third most common type of cancer globally and the most
common form of gastro-intestinal cancer. In 2018 862 000 individuals died of
colorectal cancer. The NASKHO course will provide insight into the epidemiology
and etiology of colorectal cancer. Population screening for colorectal cancer was
launched in The Netherlands in 2014. Details on the implementation and effects
on the incidence of colorectal cancer will be presented as well.
On June 15th, 2020 the Caribbean Prevention Center of the Fundashon
Prevenshon (CPC-FP) started the Pilot Colorectal Cancer Screening. This pilot
was carried out in Otrobanda, Westpunt, Lagun and Soto, where a total of 1000
people aged 50 to 75 years were invited by letter. The set-up of the program as
well as preliminary results, including participation rate, detection of polyps and
cancer will be shared.
