WILLEMSTAD.- Another part of the Courthouse workers will soon have to move out of the building. This is motivated by the presence of a “fungus” that is attacking the whole place inside the air-conditioning system, making workers sick and preventing them from performing their functions optimally and more during working hours.

There are workers who have already begun to get headaches, respiratory problems, eyes and swollen, tired faces, throat, cough, and even the skin has been affected. A large part of the workers has already been placed in another building while another part is pending relocation to another location that is still unclear.

EXTRA came into contact with the Minister of Justice Quincy Girigorie, who confirmed the problem of the fungus that is whipping the court building. The Minister of Justice announced that he is attending to what is currently happening. He explained that they are transiting the ways that the Government itself offered to invest in a solution to this, within a “short period of time”.

According to the minister, the Court presented its points of solution and are still in talks to see how they will continue to help “short term”. He explained later that yesterday they had a meeting with the member of the Control Panel Frank Hanze, who indicated that they have attention on what is happening and that they are busy with the plan and with the steps they are going to take to alleviate the situation, seeing that the Court of Justice is one of the most important pillars of a country. Then Hanze said they are busy with a plan to renovate the entire building. It should be seen how they will move the workers and also a site temporarily or for a long period.

The Minister of Justice said that they have spoken on how the government will help with the expenses and then in the future how they will collaborate with this project. The minister already has a view of the affected parts of the building and how they will solve it.
