WILLEMSTAD.- Yesterday morning, the police and also the ambulance went to Buena Vista, after receiving the information that there was a man lying down with bullet wounds on his body. Upon his arrival, the police found out that the injured man was indeed lying on the floor.
On the site, police also ran into an Isla Refinery guard, who indicated that a few minutes ago he had detected the presence of a suspect / injured man who was robbing a person at a distance not far from the Post 5 entrance. He immediately chose to pursue the man in question.
After the suspect did not want to hear the order to stop, the Island Refinery agent fired a shot into the air as a warning shot that caught the suspect in the lower part of his body. The ambulance that showed up at the site gave the victim assistance right there, and then under the guidance of the police he was transferred to the Emergency Department in order to receive advanced medical treatment.
The Island Refinery Management immediately reacted by indicating that the refinery security agent should have used his regulatory weapon to control a situation with a suspect. In addition, they confirmed that all police security agents of Isla Refinery are properly trained and certified as Extraordinary Police. The investigations into this case will continue while the victim will remain in custody.
