WILLEMSTAD – Another case of immorality against a minor was presented before a Judge. This is the case of a child under 12 years old who in past, his stepfather once committed lascivious sexual and immoral acts against him. For this reason the defendant I.C. (44) born in Jamaica, appeared in the court room to be responsible for his actions and to hear a new date for the hearing of his case.
During his case, which was presented pro forma, the prosecutor explained that I.C. was accused for immoral acts committed during the period from January 1, 2014 to November 1, 2015. The accused was sexually abusing his partner’s daughter during hat period.
According to the charges, he touched the minor at various parts of his body. I.C. was also accused of sneaking into the victim’s room, stripping her of his clothes and asking her if she wished to have sex with him. The minor who now is 16 years old also appeared in the courtroom. The accused stated that he was surprised at the moment he heard that he was being persecuted by the Justice, for the facts indicated above.
The judge explained that once the complaint was filed in the Appeal’s Court by the Prosecutor’s Office, the accused was criminally charged for the acts committed against the minor.
In view of the fact that his lawyer did not have a chance to prepare for this case, he asked the judge to suspend the hearing and to obtain more time to prepare itself better.
The defendant said that he wished to talk to the mother of the child in view of the fact that every time the woman met him he pursued him.
The case was postponed until September 20 2018.
