WILLEMSTAD.- A new local aviation company, Jetair Caribbean is watching the light of day. The plans for the Company to be launched to the market are very advanced. Yesterday the company published a notice in our newspaper where it summons applicants for the position of “Head of Quality Inspection”.

The applicant, in addition to having an MBO technical level education (MTS) or another equivalent international study, must have a valid CCAA license i.e., (Curaçao Civil Authority), as a Fokker 28 Mk type 70 technician. All interested parties react no later than March 27th. According to EXTRA, it is understood that those behind the local Aviation Company, before that, were also in the world of communications and then sold it.

This is a great opportunity that reopens to a working group in the world of aviation, especially for those who lost their job in Inselair. In statements to EXTRA related to this new aviation company, Mr. Wendell Meulen of UGTK / CADMU said that they are aware that there is a new company in development. He hopes that the Government as soon as possible can move forward with this company and channel the work of permits as soon as possible. Mr. Meulen said that Jetair, (as he knew), will use the same types of aircraft that Inselair was using. He also knew that even from now on, the company took some workers who were providing services for Inselair before. The company can feel free to obtain all the information of the former workers of Inselair through SOAW since here they have a “point of warning” to find workers in the company.

Subsequently, Mr. Meulen said that in agreements with Minister Koeiman, he put an HR lady of Inselair, in SOAW. This lady will cooperate in the process so that Inselair workers can find a job. All this is possible if the people themselves are interested. That is why Mr. Meulen asks those who have not got a SOAW call to go there or call. Meanwhile, there are workers from Inselair who got their Severance payment. Also Mr. Meulen indicated that 40% of the Inselair workers who were retired found employment. Do not forget that there are those who had to leave Curaçao and that could be 60%.
