[Willemstad, March 18th, 2020.] In compliance with government recommendations, our good neighbor policies and our responsibility to protect our community during the COVID-19 pandemic; Arcos Dorados, operator of McDonald’s brand in Curacao, will serve its customers through AutoMac (drive thru) only; which means that the restaurants will not be open to the public starting from today and until further notice . McDonald’s restaurant in Punda will remain closed until further notice.

This decision comes with a reinforcement of our preemptive measures to avoid the spread of COVID-19 virus, and is aligned with the recommendation from local authorities, including the recent announcement from Curacao’s Prime Minister.

This decision will not impact our people’s earnings. We will continue to pay salaries of each of our employees for the time this issue lasts, providing further assistance when needed.

Arcos Dorados has intensified its regular hygiene and food safety measures, to continue offering McDonald’s products though AutoMac (drive thru). The company has increased hands sanitization frequency for all its employees -which in normal circumstances is a procedure that is mandatory every hour- and is sanitizing more frequently all surfaces in contact with people.

At McDonald’s, our main priority is to protect the health of our employees and customers. We are committed to adjust our operation, to continue offering an alternative for customers to access our food during this emergency; reinforcing our strict food safety, cleaning and hygiene standards”, said Jennifer Poulina, Market Manager at Arcos Dorados Curacao.

To be confirmed with local team.
