WILLEMSTAD.- Seventeen young men from the “Curaçao Militia” (CURMIL), from the group chosen in 2013, received one medal each, for six years of faithful service. This happened last Friday, at the Navy Barracks in Suffisant, during the “All Hands” ceremony where all those who are involved and concerned about this event were present.

Along with this, 21 Militiamen were promoted to CURMIL “first class”. These twenty-one young men, last year during the summer period in the middle of the previous year, successfully completed their basic military training (EMV) and completed their last training to become militiamen.

In the same way as last year, on Thursday, April 18, the public entrance of the Aruba and Curaçao militiamen, who are in formation, will take place. During the final march, these trainees will walk with all their military equipment between 8.45 and 9.00 or leaving Roodeweg, via Ponton going to Fort Amsterdam, to be received by their families, friends and colleagues.
