WILLEMSTAD.- Based on the recommendation of Prime Minister Rhuggenaath and on behalf of the Council of Ministers of Curaçao, the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom approved the proposal to nominate Mrs. Michéle Russel-Capriles as Deputy Governor of Curaçao. The nomination that will come into force this June 1st 2019 will connect correctly, with the term that the current Deputy Governor, Mrs. Römer-Kenepa has met.

Mrs. Russel-Capriles is very capable to give content to its role in the future, looking at her religious, cultural and social past. In the course of time she occupied different positions on the level of directives, which shows her level of knowledge in the political-governmental area in which, she will work. In addition her active contribution in different social projects, mainly in the area of art and culture as well as education, gives more indication of her entrepreneurial character. Her close relationship with the foundation “Prince Bernhard Cultural Funds” and the Jewish Historical Cultural Museum is proof of this.

Mrs. Russel-Capriles is also known as a person of integrity and with high standards of conscience. Curaçao can be proud of having capable people like mrs. Russel-Capriles, who is willing to execute this important function. The new deputy governor will be sworn in very soon.
