WILLEMSTAD.- Anticipating the question of how to finance the aspect of the comprehensive security plan, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Quincy Girigorie announced that the Ministry of Justice worked hard during this week that is ending, to secure the funds that will allow to comply with the comprehensive security plan. It is about short, medium and long-term plans.
He identified some issues he needs to address, which would be the minimum basis the police have to operate and also, he will need to raise the necessary funds for this base in question. The minister spoke this week with the Minister of Finance, Mr. Gijsbertha, who assured him his cooperation with all the creativity necessary within the framework of the Law, to guarantee what he needs to be able to carry out the short-term plans.
One aspect that the Minister Girigorie emphasized, is that crime has become very abusive and must address this situation in the protection of the Police Force.
Finally, the minister explained that in regard to the case that happened las Sunday, the investigation is ongoing and every day information comes in, but he does not want to give details to avoid interfering with the investigation.
