WILLEMSTAD. Yesterday, civil servants who work in WTC were angered by the situation that every time, they are victims of criminals who destroy their vehicles parked in the parking lot of the building. In some cases they even take their cars. In this case, it is concerning the workers of the Ministry of Traffic, Transport and Planning (VVRP) and the Ministry of Governance, Planning and Public Service (BDP). Therefore, the workers paralyzed their work functions to show their discontent. One of the employees with whom EXTRA spoke, explained that for many years there have been many break-ins in the parking lot of the WTC. The WTC Management is doing absolutely nothing to solve the problem. Yesterday, colleagues almost ran into evildoers in action. At that time, the employees alerted the police to see if they could capture them. The WTC management has done nothing to help them. For this reason they showed that they are unhappy with the situation. Since 2010, there are government services in WTC. Government cars have also been targeted by criminals who have broken in to them and even stolen them. The employees themselves must cover the costs of the damage caused by this situation. Just last week, on Friday specifically, they broke two windows of a public official’s car and stole his battery. The official had to pay his expenses of the robbery. Some workers were motivated to talk to the WTC Management to see what they could do to solve this. Not only is it the parking issue, they also complain that the building has no maintenance, dirty water, etc. The workers hope that this situation will accelerate the process so that the Government finishes leaving the WTC facilities and moving to another place.

EXTRA spoke with Mr. Monte who explained that his car was parked in the WTC field, where he knows how to put his vehicle very close to his entrance of the work office. Last Friday at noon between 12.15, walking to go to his car, he noticed that the front cover of his car was open, when he approached, there were two broken windows of his car and his car battery was stolen. So, Mr. Monte had to cover his expenses of the damage. Mr. Monte knows that the Government pays more than 50 thousand guilders of rent and they still do not get the respective security. There is no gatekeeper and the security cameras are damaged. There was a security guard on a bicycle running around the place, but they have not seen him anymore. Workers’ cars are not secure standing outside. Something must be done about it. The workers demand security.
