On Friday, May 3rd, 2019, St. Martinus University, Faculty of Medicine celebrated their White Coat Ceremony to honor all new students as they begin their journey towards becoming doctors. This annual event, held at their campus in Scherpenheuvel, brought together University administrators, faculty, staff, students, and special guests including esteemed government officials, parents, leaders of non-for-profit foundations, and doctors from all over the world. Dr. Merelyn Moses, honored Member of Parliament, joined the esteemed faculty on stage to bestow the White Coats on the students. Dr. Sirving Keli, SMUFOM’s Dean of Clinical Affairs, then lead the students as they recited the Student Medical Oath. Ms. Nanke van Weely, from the Run in the Sun Foundation, gave special certificates and medals to students for their involvement with the KLM Marathon and the Red Cross. Ms. Priyam Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of SMUFOM, was given special honor and recognition that night for her unwavering service to the university and its’ students. With great guests, speeches, food, and music, this was definitely a night to remember for all.
