Leonid Kravchuk, the first president of post-Soviet Ukraine, died on Tuesday, Kyiv’s mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

“Today the first president of independent Ukraine passed away,” Klitschko wrote on Telegram, praising Kravchuk for “talent, a strong character and knowledge”.
