WILLEMSTAD.- The Consulate of Venezuela moved from Scharlooweg. From the beginning of this week, we could see that the door of the building was closed, with an announcement indicating it. The Consulate of Venezuela for many years was located in Scharlooweg 9. It’s a building of the Stichting Monumentenzorg, with the people of the consulate renting it.

EXTRA knew that since February 28th the Consulate closed this office, and is moving. The place where they will work now is not known. Yesterday we noted that there wasn’t any logo of Venezuela in that building and that its doors were sealed with a padlock. On the fence of the building there is a guard or janitor sitting guarding the building. Neither Flag nor Shield is hung on it. A view on its website pages says that the Consulate General of Venezuela in Willemstad, is the only representation of Venezuela in Curaçao.

It also asks those who wish to get in contact with them, to make direct contact with the Consulate. But in that same order of ideas, they say to take into account that perhaps the Consulate cannot give assistance at this moment. However, he makes contact with the Consulate to verify his addresses and hours of reception to the public. The Consulate was formerly located in Breedestraat Punda, but for many years its address was Scharlooweg. This is a clear indication that the Consulate closed its doors in Scharlooweg. EXTRA tried to contact the Consulate of Venezuela, by telephone, without results since they are unattainable.
