Adrie Williams candidate no. 3 for President of ABVO won the election yesterday.
It was an election in which the candidates maintained a strong campaign for the position of President. The other candidates that were part of the election were: Edson Ignecia and Ivoirette Cintje-Wasker.
Last week the process was stopped due to flaws in the computer program. This ruling brought much concern for the two candidates who were running for President, but finally the person in charge of IT gave an explanation that the system worked and therefore the majority of the Board agreed to continue the vote by the computerized system and not with paper and pencil as was the ulterior request of the two candidates for president.
Mr. Gershwin Hodge, President of the Election Commission, told Extra that the process was carried out in total calm and normalcy. There were no incidents to report.
ABVO has more or less 4000 members but approximately 1,100 members went to vote previously. In the case of yesterday's election, 1119 members voted.
Adrie Williams was elected president of ABVO and the other elected members were:
George Hernandes, Gregory Wilson, Kenneth Bremer, Najantara Webster, Asmara Thode, Marlon Manuela, Merilyn Lourens and Alfred Suares.
