WILLEMSTAD.- Last Saturday at noon at about 1.48 p.m. information came to the Coast Guard Central that a boat had capsized in the area of Boca Sami, in the wide sea and left 9 people shipwrecked.
Immediately the interceptor I-03 was directed to the Boca Sami area for emergency relief.
At that same moment the Citro staff was alerted about the event, so that they could start preparing and to stay tuned in case they should give assistance.
In the area of the corridor, the commander of the interceptor I-03 gave the news to the Central that the 9 people who were shipwrecked in the sea were completely healthy and safe.
The commander of I-03, for safety reasons went to take a look anyway, to verify that all the people were ok.
Upon the arrival of the Coast Guard interceptor, the staff found that the overturned boat had already begun to sink. Another boat that was on the site tried to help preventing sinking of the boar, but unfortunately it was impossible.
Citro was called to try and drag the boat's to the surface, but after a while trying, unfortunately the boat sank to the depths of the sea. After the Coast Guard staff found that all the people were fine and that the boat that sank did not represent any danger to maritime traffic, the crew of I-03 finished with their work, and thanked the Citro team that arrived quickly to the site to support assistance.
