CFT does not trust and insists that measures be taken

Komparti:

WILLEMSTAD.- Council of Financial Supervision (CFT), in a letter addressed to Finance Minister Kenneth Gijsbertha and to the Speaker of Parliament William Millerson, reacted to the letter sent by the Government on September 12th. In the letter by the Government to CFT, they explain that the decisions taken cover the budget risks sufficiently. However, in the responding letter to Minister Gijsbertha and the Parliament this week, CFT repeatedly expresses serious concern about the financial-economic situation of Curaçao and gives the Government time until October 9 to take the necessary measures, otherwise they will advise the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom, to give Curaçao instruction.

CFT received a response from the Government on September 12 last.

In this letter, Minister Gijsbertha insists that the 2018 budget is adjusted to reality and absolutely balanced. CFT re-insists on its part, that the 2018 budget in the way that Minister Gijsbertha presented it, is not enough. It is important to note that the CFT letter was also received by the Parliament, contrary to the original agreements that the letter would first be communicated to the Government and after 2 weeks it would be made public. Well, surely Minister Gijsbertha will not be "delighted".

CFT took note of the letter that Prime Minister Rhuggenaath sent to Premier Rutte, explaining that Curaçao's economy did not grow and has problems in servicing, etc. CFT recognizes all the problems that Prime Minister Rhuggenaath indicated. CFT appreciates the steps that the Government of Curaçao has taken after its letter dated August 29, 2018, but still insists on important points that the Government of Curaçao did not do enough.

CFT does not trust much that the collection of the money from the taxes would generate a lot of income and remains in its point of demanding the Government to come with extraordinary measures to generate additional 30 million. This should also be implemented in the budget adaptation no later than October 9th. Even less, CFT trusts that the Government will receive 37 million from UTS as dividends. CFT thinks that 2.6 million advance payments seem feasible, but for the rest of 34.4 million, CFT recommends taking other measures to guarantee them.

This is a news piece about the CFT (likely a financial oversight body) expressing distrust and demanding measures be taken – possibly related to government finances, accountability, or policy enforcement in a Caribbean territory. For a different kind of entertainment, https://betory-casinos-nl.nl/ might be a fun alternative. What's the context of this story?
