WILLEMSTAD.- During these days of Carnival, the Coast Guard intensified their patrols in front of our coasts, in order to prevent the undocumented from entering the country. According to the Coast Guard, the Carnival period is known to be a period of increased illegal activities on the sea. Boats with many people on board try to get to Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao more often. Illegal people try to step on land and many times they have weapons in their possession. Once on land, weapons and drugs are a danger to the community. The coastguards work very hard to provide the coasts and the sea, the release of illegal practices.
In the past, the Carnival season was regularly used as a period in which boats tried to reach the coast. For this reason, the coastguards go out and patrol more intensively during this period. The units will be much more visible over the sea and the planes will also patrol more frequently.
The Coast Guard will receive the collaboration of Defense also in the form of Zr. Ms. Zeeland, which is our patrol for the waters. An alert is also directed to the community, to the people so that they are alert and report suspicious cases about the sea to the number 913 that is available 24/7.
