WILLEMSTAD.-Crude oil for the Island Refinery has started to arrive. Last Friday a shipment of crude oil entered Bullenbaai and there is a whole scheme with the precise dates of the arrival of the ships that should bring more crude. This was reported to EXTRA by sources close to the Isla Refinery. The crude oil is necessary to start the operation of the company that has been paralyzed for almost 8 months. Curaçao Refinery Utilities (CRU) is working hard so that on the 23rd of December they can deliver enough utilities such as water, gas, and compressed air to restart the operation of the Island Refinery. However, there is an international embargo on the boat that has already brought the crude oil last Friday. This is something that happens regularly in the international oil world and is often resolved administratively. Besides the crude oil for the Isla Refinery, there was crude oil for more than one client on board. For the oil destined for the Island Refinery there is no "embargo" whatsoever.
