CTB SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH MLB TO PROMOTE CURAÇAO

Komparti:

WASHINGTON D.C.- Curaçao Tourism Board (CTB) signed an agreement with the Major League Baseball  (MLB), on the eve of the All-Star Game to promote the island throughout the United States Curaçao. In an interview with Hugo Clarinda, acting Director of CTB, explained to Extra that it was a project that CTB has been working on for some time since they signed Didi Gregorius.

Yesterday CTB and MLB reached an agreement in the presence of the Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, Steven Martina. With this agreement, CTB can make use of our players in their uniforms of MLB and the MLB logo of the teams to promote Curaçao in baseball parks as was the case yesterday night in Washington National Park during the All-Star Game.

Minister Steven Martina believes that this is a good step for Curaçao to continue promoting itself through the professional baseball players witnessing himself how many people go to the stadium or follow the transmissions of the games on television.

Mr. Martina believes that we should continue investing in sports since the name of Curaçao will keep resonating around the world with the success in baseball, swimming, athletics, and also soccer when our national team plays internationally representing our Flag.

On behalf of CTB, Mr. Clarinda thinks that this is the beginning of a new promotional vision for Curaçao in the United States. He hopes that in the future more players will reach the big leagues so that the island can be promoted with the success like Ozzie Albies and Kenley Jansen who were at this year’s ALL Star game and the name of Curaçao was resonating practically every day since these two players were selected.
