Last year Curaçao Culinair introduced a little competition during the event. This year there will also be a professional jury panel that will taste and evaluate all the delicious signature dishes of the participating restaurants. One of them is the famous Caribbean cook Helmi Smeulders from Spice Girl – Caribbean Flavors with a Twist. But another food expert is needed! Are you, or do you know, a true Curaçao Culinary fan who knows everything about culinary delights? On Facebook (www.facebook.com/curacaoculinair) the organization has asked the help of the public to select someone for this wonderful job! Who will help to choose the best dish that is served on Curaçao Culinary 2019? Last year BijBlauw won the “Best Signature Dish” prize. Will they extend their title this year? We will know soon, at the upcoming edition of Curaçao Culinair!
Curaçao Culinair is already experiencing its fourth edition this year on April 5th and 6th. It has become a permanent event on the Curaçao calendar. The best restaurants in Curaçao present themselves to visitors on the grounds of Landhuis Chobolobo. They serve a wide range of delicious dishes in the form of culinary appetizers and small snacks.
The participating restaurants in this 4th edition of Curaçao Culinary are: Baoase Culinary Beach Restaurant, BijBlauw, Ginger, Kokomo, Tinto, Kyoto Sushi & Grill, Chobolobo Country House, Madero Ocean Club, Mood Beach, Nemo and The Pen by Avila Beach Hotel.
New this year is, the extra attention is being paid to the so-called ‘From Farm to Fork’ concept. On Curaçao we have several local farmers who produce very good fresh ingredients. The organization therefore asked all participating restaurants to select their ‘From Farm to Fork’ dishes and to mark them on the menu, so that the best local ingredients can be tasted in the most culinary dishes of the island.
In addition, all kinds of drinks are available at the central bar, specially selected delicious premium wines at the Bottles Wine bar and various Gin Tonics at the Hendrick’s cocktail bar.
