WILLEMSTAD - In a statement issued to the press, the Ministry of General Affairs announced that Curaçao will not approve the use of its territory for a military intervention in Venezuela.
The statement indicates that recently Curaçao, through the Dutch Kingdom, signed a document outlining the conditions under which Curaçao will operate as a logistics center for United States humanitarian aid to Venezuela.
The signed agreement clearly indicates the conditions under which Curaçao functions as a humanitarian center, which was discussed and approved by the Parliament of Curaçao.
One of the conditions is that only civilians can transport humanitarian products to Venezuela.
Another article of the agreement indicates that for other reasons that require the application of an exception and in which other forms of transport for humanitarian aid should be used, this will be a decision that will be taken by the Netherlands with the consent of the Minister President of Curaçao.
The statement said emphatically that the Government of Curaçao will not authorize the use of its territory for military actions by the United States on Venezuela.
The Government of Curaçao emphasizes that the role of Curaçao is solely humanitarian aid for the Venezuelan people.
