WILLEMSTAD.- The Health Inspection yesterday filed a complaint with Prosecutor’s Office against the Director General of Advent Hospital, Ms. Pannefelek and the Medical Director sra. Mejía. According to the Inspector, they are hindering the supervision of the inspection.
In a press release, Inspector Jan Huurman mentioned that any person who refuses to cooperate with the inspection to execute his supervisory function is punishable for a crime.
According to Huurman, the two Directors denied any contact with the Health Inspectorate since July 4. According to Huurman, there are different reasons for supervisory conversations with Advent Hospital. This means that the Inspection wants to get answers to several questions. Inspection explained that they have found dubious indications of different cases of hospitalizations, supposedly have questionable plans for the future and according have medical specialists who are surely working illegally at the Advent Hospital.
Based on Health Inspection Law, Inspection is considering this week to impose one or more fines.
Mrs. Cenaida Pannefelek, Director of the Hospital Advent two months ago stated that in her opinion the management of Health Inspector Jan Huurman is not based on real content or quality.
For a long time, Inspector Huurman has followed the development of Advent Hospital with many criticisms. This has so far resulted in different instructions and measures. Two months ago, mrs. Pannefelek made a petition to change the whole inspection system. In her opinion, the management of the Health Inspection until this moment is "damaging the trust of our care".
