WILLEMSTAD.-Minister Girigorie informs the Community that the administrative investigation regarding the events that led to the theft of a substantial amount of drugs from a police facility last October is in its final phase and the Minister will receive the corresponding report at the end of January 2019. As is known, in the month of October of last year a robbery took place that left the Community of Curaçao stupefied, when it became known that something like this had happened in our country. A large quantity of drugs was stolen from the Garipitoweg police unit. The fact that the theft took place in the police guard, generated comments and rumours that it was an "internal job". Up to this moment there is no official report of how this happened, while the investigation is still in process. There are many rumours on the street and there are even mentions of some other comments about who and how this could happen, but the fact is that it is a very delicate case, and we must wait for the police investigation to end in order to get all the details in an official way. In his report yesterday related to the case of the spokesman of the Public Ministry, at the end of this statement, the Minister of Justice makes mention of the fact that the investigation related to this theft is already in its final phase.
