WILLEMSTAD.- This Wednesday, January 30th, the Council of Ministers met with the SITEK board. The minister in charge of the Education, Mrs. Marilyn Alcalá-Wallé sat with members of the Public-School Service (D.O.S.), in order to obtain a specific view of the cleanup plan and this was reported back to SITEK so that SITEK could have the information.
Also, the Minister of Education received a request from the Council of the Minister to elaborate a calculation of the costs based on the request of January 30th derived from SITEK, with respect to the Cleaning Plan proposed by SITEK.
The ministers sat last Wednesday with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (ESKD) and together they are working hard on SITEK's request. On Friday, February 1st 2019, SITEK held a strike operative in front of the building of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, located in the Bon Bini Business Center, Schottegatweg Oost. Because the concerns and protests caused by the SITEK protesters affected the workers, the decision was made to close the service at 12 noon.
Despite this, public officials showed their commitment to the community and the work continued on Saturday, February 2nd 2019, so that in a short time, Minister Alcalá-Wallé has the information both for the Council of Ministers and for the SITEK union. Minister Alcalá-Wallé thanked the employees for their efforts as well, for the weekend.
With respect to the request of the case of teachers A for B, this is not ready yet. This is going to be dealt with directly in the governmental apparatus. The Ministry of ESKD is working diligently on this and as soon as Minister Alcalá-Wallé has the information based on the decision of the Council of Ministers, she will immediately inform the SITEK union.
With regard to other issues of concern that the SITEK handles, the relevant to the "Teaching Agreement" was highlighted. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport is working on a new realization scheme. Thus, the minister will have everything ready and will notify to the SITEK. The SITEK will be updated on all these issues through Minister Marilyn Alcalá-Wallé.
