It is with great sadness that we inform you of the sudden passing of our beloved husband and father
Nagy Salah El Din Mohamad Bakir
Nagy will immensely be missed by his wife Marcy Bakir, his children Omar, Faisal & Amynah, siblings, and remaining family members.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 17th at El Señorial from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. After the memorial service, the burying will take place at the Islamic cemetery. Visitors are asked to adhere to the COVID-measures.
The family respectfully requests no visitors at home during this time.

A good teacher is a strict disciplinarian, an amazing teacher is kind and understanding I always thought I would make my way back to Dr. Bakir, that one day I would meet him, and show him how successful I am. I think that chance is gone, and I could say many conventional words of comfort and honor his memory, but I want to add a bit more. I want, and I'm sure he would appreciate it, if others took away the sombre lesson which he always taught, is that even though He determines each life, we (as doctors), are responsible for our patient's quality of life, and hence we must be vigilant, deterministic and noble in every step we take, in every word we say and in our thought. As our patients are our livelihood, and their happpiness becomes our hapiness, their ups and downs in life leave an impression on our minds too. No, he did not ever say it, he expressed it. It was in his character and one could only sense it if they were in his proximity. He was a man with an air of efficiency, for whom every minute was important, and I'm sure he used it to keep doing good up to his last one. Observing him care for his patients melted away the burden of academic medicine since we all desire to ease human suffering, and a gentle reminder of that is always welcome. He fit the the idea of that perfect doctor we all have in our mind: smart, charming, caring, comforting - the person we want to see if we desire to seek treatment. Everyone loved him, and he loved them. And I think that is intrinsically the power of knowledge, the more one understands, the more empathetic he is as a human, and the more humane one becomes in his nature and disposition. I always wanted to tell him that. That he is one of the most humble and selfless people I know. He was gentle but stern, lenient but not apathetic to mistakes, never did he make me feel like I was just a student, that I was not as good as him, or not of use--he motivated me, encouraged me, and inspired me. He was full of knowledge, compassion, and charisma; it was a winning combination in any person, let alone a doctor. And to his family and friends, I would lke to say, I hope you can grieve him in the right way, and come out knowing, understanding and accepting that he used his limited time on earth, given to us all by the Almighty, in the best way possible; his charity and self-sacrifice have wiped away more tears than you might shed today. I'm truly sorry for your loss.
