WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday the coast guard officially activated 4 new “Metal Sharks” boats for service after they where acquired in April.
The "Metal Shark" boats will replace the older boats that the coastguards used until yesterday called "Super Rhib" and with which the Coast Guard made their last race.
During the official ceremony yesterday, bystanders had the opportunity to witness and experience the boats up close
It is expected that the coast guards in Aruba and St. Maarten will also receive four “Metal Sharks” each by the end of the year.
The investment of the first four (4) boats is estimated at a minimum of at least a few millions guilders.
