WILLEMSTAD.- Schools Directives, both Catholic, EBG, Humanist, IFE, Public leave the Teaching consultation platform. Without giving much detail, the Schools Directives inform that on Tuesday December 4th they will have a press conference in which they will offer all the information.

During the press conference, the Schools' Directives will give information regarding the decision to suspend their participation for the time being from the consultation platform between the minister and the School Directives, which address the problems they deal with within education and that require urgent solution.

During the press conference they will explain what are the problems that have on the agenda of the platform, how the process to address these problems has arisen and what has led to the agenda is exhausted without achieving a solution in this regard. EXTRA spoke yesterday evening with Minister of Education Marilyn Alcalá-Walle and she confirmed this news. Alcalá-Wallé agreed with the Directives of the Schools. She referred to EXTRA in a reaction last night, she was aware that the Schools Directives as a whole have taken distance from the consultation platform.

The minister agrees that different journeys within the consultation platform are walking very slowly.

She mentioned, for example:

1) Digitalization of the Process.

2) Change the standard remuneration rules.

3) Teacher Awards.

4) School Maintenance Plan.

5) Too much request to perform extra administration without giving extra administrative workforce.

According to the minister: "I pushed as much as I can to make changes, but I must admit that this must go faster." Next week, the Schools' Directives will offer the decision they have made.
