WILLEMSTAD.- As is already a custom, related to the traditional “Fuikdag” that is celebrated every first Sunday of the beginning of the new year in Fuikbaai, the Police along with the Coast Guard, Port Security Inspection and Firefighters, have stipulated some rules to guarantee that the activity develops in order. The following measures will be in force during the “Fuikdag” day:
- Permits will not be granted for the sale to the public of alcoholic beverages during the event.
- Floats or floating podiums will not be allowed or allowed during the activity of the Fuikdag, nor will they sell drinks or propaganda materials.
- All boats (navigation) participating in the event, must have official documents, must have enough lifeguards (according to the number of people on board) and appropriate objects indicative of emergency cases.
- The Firemen will control the cases in which grills are cooked on board the boats, on possible fire hazards.
- The captain of each boat is responsible for its passengers. The boats will not be allowed to act as “water taxis”, picking up passengers from one point to another. Nor is it permitted to walk via Sta. Barbara Plantation to Fuikbaai or to leave Fuikbaai via Sta. Barbara Plantation.
- At 5:00 p.m, (afternoon) will begin to remove all boats from Fuikbaai.
All attendees must follow the orders and immediate instructions of the competent authorities. Each participant, captain or boat owner, is asked to take these measures into account, as the authorities in charge of security and the maintenance of public order will act harshly to mainly guarantee optimal security during and after the activity.
