WILLEMSTAD.- Yesterday at noon, just at the moment when traffic becomes extra congested, two accidents were recorded on the bridge. One on each side.
First of the side to go in the direction of Otrobanda, the drivers of three different vehicles were involved in an accident after unknown reasons or perhaps lack of attention in traffic caused that the cars to hit behind each other.
All three vehicles received a lot of material damage while the ambulance had to give treatment and attention to two people at the site. Afterwards both were transported to the emergency department in order to receive advanced medical treatment.
But just at the moment when the authorities were dealing with this accident, on the other side of the bridge towards Punda, two other vehicles collided from behind.
In this second accident there were no injured persons but there was material damages.
Forensys attended to both accidents and then with the help of the towing cars they were able to remove the vehicles from the bridge, in order to allow the traffic to flow again.
The fact that there were two accidents on each side of the bridge obviously generated huge traffic chaos from Fokkerweg to Domi and vice versa on the opposite side.
