WILLEMSTAD.- Yesterday there was a news going around indicating that the US State Department was alerting Americans and tourists, both those who live or visit the islands of Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire and also in the North Coast of Colombia, to be attentive to the situation in the region.

This is completely false news. A “fake news” or “false news”. EXTRA made contact with the American Consulate in Curaçao and they confirmed that this information does not match the truth.

The State Department will never send such information and even less, an alert in this way. In addition, there is no reason for an alert statement in this way. This is what the American Consulate informed us. It is important to note that it would be much more “positive” that this type of messages be avoided as they harm our country, we depend completely on tourism and this keeps our visitors away from our islands.
