WILLEMSTAD.- The Curaçao Police informed on Monday afternoon that on Sunday, March 3, around 11:35 am, the Police Central Station received information about a drowning incident at Baya Beach.
From the preliminary investigation, it became clear that a man was swimming and at some point, people on the beach noticed that the man was in trouble. The victim was immediately brought ashore, and resuscitation efforts began.
Ambulance personnel who later arrived at the scene continued with resuscitation, but unfortunately without satisfactory results. The police doctor pronounced the death of the man, Joseph Michael Twardzik, born in the USA on February 23, 1960.
