WILLEMSTAD.- The new Aqualectra plant at Dokweg, no. 2 is taking shape.
The official ceremony of this plant was on April 25 and if everything continues to go according to plan, in January 2019 will start performing the necessary tests. Hopefully then at the end of February the plant is ready and with an additional capacity of 39 Mw, for a total of 74 MW at the Dokweg II plant. With this expansion, the total capacity of Aqualectra to generate electricity from fossil fuels will become around 160 Mw.
The construction consists of a building, in which the diesel machines and the current generator will be located, heaters, fuel and water tanks and also other required machinery. The total cost of this project is 71 million guilders.
