WILLEMSTAD.- The situation between SSO and SOAW is getting out of hand, according to our sources close to these two Ministries. A publication since last Saturday that cleaning workers were not paid, is still the same.
They promised that they would pay on Monday, and Monday went by and nothing. Then they promised that they would pay by yesterday at 10 a.m., still nothing and later in the afternoon there was still no money for them.
There are approximately 35 cleaning workers (from government offices) who depend on their salaries, the same as any employee.
It seems that some could not even go to work yesterday, and there are those who reported today, that they cannot show up to work because they do not have food.
According to EXTRA sources, SSO has to send money to SOAW in order to make the payment and even that has not happened. The sources of EXTRA indicated that the situation between these two Ministers, namely Koeiman and Konket, must be take care of urgently so that the workers can receive their payments.
Hopefully by today they can reach a solution for this situation.
