WILLEMSTAD.- The Health Inspection and the Department of Healthcare Inspection on a request for Education Inspection, began with an investigation on the quality of the Psychological Reports that must be fulfilled for what is known as the declaration. These declarations are necessary for the special education and to give the children extra time for exams.

Based on previous research carried out by the Education Inspectorate, doubts were raised about the quality of the research and the basis on which these reports are based.

The Healthcare Inspection carries out these investigations based on the stipulations of the Health Decree and the Health Care Professionals Decree (BIG). Based on Art. 29 of BIG, those who practice the profession of medicine, under which psychologists also fall, must grant care based on their expertise and at a good level, directed and based on the real need of the patient.

According to Article 3 of the BIG Decree, each profession in the medical sector by itself, or together with other colleagues in the same health career, require an arrangement of complaints and claims. So far, this is missing in the sector of the Psychologists who are organized in PsyCur. The Inspection has its attention directed on the possibility that those who wish to file a claim against a Psychologist can do it directly at the Health Inspection, as it applies to other doctors. The inspection is available via the website, www.inspectiegmn.org. Claims can be filed through this website.
