As Corendon Hotels & Resorts, since the day we were founded, our highest priority has always been to provide our guests with a safe and pleasant stay. We always put the safety and well-being of our guests and employees first, under all circumstances.
Unfortunately, we are also required to take the necessary measures to keep everyone safe and healthy during this challenging period. As concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) continue, we understand you are forced to rethink plans and make changes as well. During these challenging times we are required to take the necessary measures to keep everyone safe and healthy. As concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) continue to rise, we understand that our guests are forced to rethink their plans and make the necessary changes.
Since the Government of Curaçao has closed its borders and cancelled all incoming flights, we are unable to receive our guests on April 1st (the official opening date). These guests are being informed and we are currently working on rescheduling their holidays.
For Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort employees this means that we will follow the measures taken by the Curaçao Government. Our employees will be working in smaller groups, with fewer people, so that distance can be kept between workers and everyone remains safe. Naturally, this will lead to a delay in the opening and therefore Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort will open later than planned. At this moment the situation is unclear and new measurements are taken every day so we cannot give any realistic date when we will be open. We will keep the construction of our hotel going and make sure we are ready to welcome our guests when we deem it safe to do so.
Because of the large impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) on the entire world we have decided to fully complete the first phase of our hotel before starting on the next phase, phase 2. We are very optimistic about opening Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort, but we are dependent on the measures taken by the Government of Curaçao regarding the opening of the borders and air traffic. We completely support the decisions made by the Curaçao Government and we share the priority to keep everyone safe.
We realize that this is a very difficult time for all of us. For now, it is important that we work together and keep an eye on one another so that we can keep each other safe.
On behalf of Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort, we wish everyone a lot of strength during these difficult times. Stay safe and take care of each other.
