WILLEMSTAD – The situation in the PAR party is back to the point it was before the elections.

Different prominent members with vast political experience decided to withdraw from the party and it is speculated that many of them no longer form part of important body of the party such as the Board of the Party Council.

What causes the most irritation and causes those with experience not to be involved with their party, is the fact that they are not allowed to speak with their current leaders and parliamentarians and that they are not willing to listen to councils either.

Discontent is seen in a small group of members who informally attended the usual meeting on Saturdays at the party headquarters. In the past this meeting was the focus of discussion and exchange of thought of the party in the interest of the government of the country.

The hope is that there will be a change in the situation of the party itself. In this framework all eyes are on the political leader Eugenne Rhuggenaath. But Rhuggenaath does not want to share their views with these prominent members.

Therefore, an election must be made for the Board. The current Director, Zita Jesús-Leito, has passed her term limits. Next to this, it is not usual for a minister to be president of the party, but in the case of Zita Jesús-Leito she is occupying the double role for some years contrary to the good customs of the party.

The date on which the election will be held is unknown and candidates to fill the vacancies, as regards to political leaders is apparently a problem. But leaving the situation as it is now is not the most advisable according to those bitter critics of the prevailing situation.
