WILLEMSTAD.- Yesterday, a few days after prisoners guards protested with work stoppage regarding the use of drones to drop drugs in prison, authorities managed to put their hands on the first three suspects.

Yesterday around 1:00 pm, police received information that in the area of ​​Bapor Kibra there was a van that presumably had a drone in its trunk that possibly transported drugs to the prison. Immediately a unit went to the site and spotted the truck. A chase started in the area of ​​Koraal Specht and Dr. Maalweg but the police managed to stop the vehicle. Two persons were detained, H v.d. G., 20 years of age and L.A.R. of 19 years of age, both born in Curaçao.

The drone was also confiscated. Following the investigation, three raids were carried out at Kaya Sakadó, Welensaliweg and Groothornstraat. In the Kaya Sakadó the police arrested a third man, J.A.D.D. 33 years old, born in Curaçao and in Welensaliweg some items of great importance for the investigation was confiscated.

For days, the prison guards were asking for attention for the situation of the drones since they consider this as an aspect of primary security. After the strike, the most pressing need was to address the situation of the drones that flew every day over the complex and even went down in prison leaving merchandise. The prison guards wanted a solution as soon as possible and urgently, to attend to this situation.

The situation is now in the hands of those who manage the prison, and whom must take measures bring change for this situation.
