WILLEMSTAD.- In his observation of the verdict that the Court issued yesterday, in his case against the Government of Curaçao, George Jamaloodin announced that since July 9 he notified the Prosecutor’s Office that he would not be present in the courtroom during the case.

“Not even at that moment did they issue a summons against me”. Jamaloodin is still waiting for such a summons.

Jamaloodin emphasized that it would be unusual for the Public Prosecutor’s Office to claim that they did not issue a summons because, they must interrogate him first. Since 2014, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has not shown any interest in listening to him, despite the fact that Jamaloodin has offered to be available to them on more than one occasion.

But he has been mentioned in 3 criminal cases and when he analyzes these cases, he realizes that there is still no clarity about the reasons that actually led to his arrest.

With regard to the case “Passaat”, the case has been closed, so arrest in this particular case is not necessary.

In the case “Maximus”, the Judge gave Jamaloodin his release without stipulating any conditions to which he had to abide to. The arrest in this case is not possible either.

The prosecutor in charge of the investigation “Germanium”, informed him that he did not know what to ask Jamaloodin during a testimony session. This means that in this case there is no interest whatsoever in maintaining his arrest.

Finally, Jamaloodin said that in due time he will prove his innocence in each and every one of these three cases, and will also show how unfair the Curaçao judicial system treated him, more so after Fonseca’s verdict when the Court issued a press release.

Justice will prevail, be it in the Kingdom or in an international forum.
