WILLEMSTAD.-Needless to say, the situation in our neighbouring country Venezuela for many years now is not very great. Many people are living in the most extreme poverty, since food is very scarce. Before Christmas, many Venezuelans living in Curaçao sent many items of daily use for their families back home. They not only sent food, but also clothes, toys, car parts, refrigerators, air conditioners and various things that Venezuelans cannot get in their country. In the photo, you can see the items placed on one side by the Customs to be checked before being loaded onto the Venezuelan fruit ships that returned this week to Venezuela.
