WILLEMSTAD.- Yesterday MEO officials went to a bar at the Rooseveltweg. The officials came to the site to close and seal the entrance to the bar. Two weeks ago, authorities arrested the owner, a lady with initials Y.Y.N.T. 53 years old and also his son K.A.F.N. 37 years old, both born in Venezuela, for being related to a case that has to do with human trafficking.
Since that day the establishment was closed and was not in operation. Before this, some previous months, the officials arrived at the site and verified that the owner, who at that time was a lady; Currently detained, she had requested a petition and had not obtained such permission yet. That day the establishment was closed taking into account that the lady owner (for that moment), could not be ready with the respective permits of the establishment in reference.
After that day, the lady’s husband opened the establishment again, but this time with the deeds to his name. But it did not take long for the authorities to see the same practices that had been discovered earlier.
On September 27th, the police arrested a lady of Venezuelan nationality, who worked as a party girl in that bar on Rooseveltweg. They also conducted a raid on two houses in Buena Vista. In these two houses mentioned above, the police arrested another 5 people who did not have their necessary documents to be able to stay on our island.
Now the entrance is sealed, in order to prevent people from entering the bar until the investigations are finished and all documents are in order.
