WILLEMSTAD- Minister-President Eugene Rhuggenaath regrets that the situation with the appointment of a new Minister of Economic Development is paralyzed. He cannot comment at all on this current situation, because ‘the process is not over yet and there is no conclusion about it’. He has to continue with the process in a normal way. It has been almost 2 months since Minister Steven Martina retired as Minister of Economic Development, and so far there is no new Minister appointed. This is regrettable, according to Rhuggenaath. The Minister of Finance and current Minister of Economic Development Kenneth Gijsbertha, does not want to comment either. Gijsbertha announced that he is currently abroad.

As is known, the MAN party proposed Neysa Schoop-Isenia as the new Minister of Economic Development. As EXTRA reported last Saturday, the screening and swearing-in and assumption of immediate functions of Ms. Schoop-Isenia as the new Minister in charge of the Economy portfolio is ready. However everything is on hold due to a document from the Central Bank of Curaçao and San Martín (CBCS). This due to an investigation regarding the Giro Bank and Eric Garcia case. The lawyer of Neysa Schoop-Isenia sent a letter to the Central Bank. This letter requires that CBCS withdraw said letter in question. This letter must be rectified or will start a penal process against CBCS

Apparently Minister Gijsbertha received documents from the Central Bank since March 22, but he did not report anything at all, to Ms. Schoop-Isenia. According to Ms. Schoop-Isenia, the Central Bank violated all secrecy and reliability rules.
