WILLEMSTAD – Based on the process around the Ennia Insurance Company, Office of the Prosecutor (OM) executed an embargo on no more than 13 Ennia companies in St. Maarten to be exact, owned by Mr. Ansary. Among others, Sunset Resort and one of its properties that falls under the Sunset Resort in Mullet Bay.

The spokesman for the Office of the Prosecutor in charge of TBO confirmed this news for EXTRA. Last Friday the Office of the Prosecutor confirmed that the Central Bank (CBCS) delivered the complaint to OM about the development of Ennia.

The Attorney General (PG) commissioned the Team to Combat Undermining (TBO) to investigate.

The Ennia Curacao investigations were extended to Ennia St. Maarten as well. Last week on July 4, the Court ruled that the Central Bank of Curacao and St. Maarten will take over the management of Ennia Caribe Leven N.V., Ennia Caribe Zorg N.V., Ennia Caribe Schade N.V, E.C. Investments B.V. and Ennia Caribe Holding N.V.

On Friday there was another process, which the Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten executed against E.C. Holding N.V. to expand its authority amid emergency measures to protect E.C. Holding. The Court agreed with this process.

Meanwhile the sum of 100 million dollars that was taken out of Ennia last week was returned back to the Company. The issue with the 100 million dollars was the alarm for the Central Bank to take action and took the decision to go to court and request preventive and precautionary emergency measures on Ennia.

It is important to mention that the Chief Financial Officer of the Central Bank sr. Jardim said that no Ennia policyholder should have any discomfort or concern. The Central Bank will take care that these companies work well and that customers can rest assured of their investments. Management was also fired as those who make up the supervisory board with the exception of its Directors.
