WILLEMSTAD. – Parents of children who have Type 1 Diabetes doesn’t agree with the measures that have been taken against Dr. Sonia Faries. The parents sent a letter to the media explaining that it is not true, that Dr. Faries acted improperly in the treatment of their children. An investigation took place on the treatment of Dr. Faries and it’s not correct, according to the parents.
The report states that one of the patients had problems with his liver due to the treatment of Dr. Faries. As is known, recently measures were imposed against Dr. Sonia Faries, who treated children with type 1 diabetes for many years. The decision was to remove them from the care of the Dr. and now they are being taken care of by doctors of the Hospital.
Parliamentarian Jacinta Constancia of MFK, recently in a Radio interview, requested attention for this case. According to Constancia there is a report regarding the situation. Health Inspector Jan Huurman told the media last week that the decision that children have to be treated by a team of local Sehos doctors was received and positively handled in conversation between Dr. Faries and Sehos. Parents of patients with type 1 diabetes reported that no one informed them of the decision. According to the parents, many of the children are not happy with the situation. They appreciate and have a good connection with Dr. Faries. One of the mothers said: “There are children who from very young have their treatment with Dr. Faries, we all have good contact with Dr. Faries, we as adults have not heard anything and now our children have to go to the Hospital and they cannot be treated by Dr. Faries, this is not fair or correct. ” (end of quote).
