WILLEMSTAD.- Officials of MEO and also the police accompanied by employees of Curoil went to two directions respectively Frederickstraat in Otrobanda and Fatimaweg in Suffisant.
This is related to an investigation that is currently being carried out on the sale of both large and small gas clandestinely.
For some time now, officials have noticed that some people are purchasing a large amount of both small as well as large gas cylinders to be able to do business with them. They can sell them at a much more expensive price.
At the address of Otrobanda, 17 large gas bottles were confiscated while in Suffisant 5 small gas bottles were confiscated.
What makes this fact more popular is that the resellers themselves have been advertising it through social media without realizing the immense problem they are getting into, taking into account that the authorities are already aware of this situation. The sale of things that are not your property is an illegal act. And specifically in this case.
Gas cylinders, both large and small, are owned by Curoil /Curgas, as it is therefore forbidden to sell them. For those who make use of both small and large gas cylinders, they are only allowed to have two in their homes. In the case of business there is an exception of two or more cylinders
If someone has more than two cylinders at their home, they can contact Curoil in order to avoid problems, since there are many more addresses on the list, which could to receive the visit of MEO, the police and also of Curoil.
Besides, that the sale of clandestine gas cylinders is illegal, this could be a dangerous thing that could even cause a tragedy. Even if you do not sell gas cylinders clandestinely, you cannot have more than two for each house.
