WILLEMSTAD.- The vaccination program against HPV will begin in the school year 2018-2020. The vaccination campaign against human papillomavirus (HPV) will initiate in the 2019-2020 school year. The Minister of Health announced it this weekend as a result of a large symposium with great presence at the World Trade Center, in which experts spoke on this subject. All experts agreed that this vaccination point should be placed high on the agenda, since day after day there is more suffering caused by this virus because of cancer.
Minister Camelia-Römer was not present in this section on Saturday, since she chose to go to Washington to attend the 56th meeting of the Board of the PAHO World Health Organization. The minister announced at the Conference among others, that a plan was reached to attend with HPV. “The countries have discussed extensively and approved a plan of action regarding the control and uterine cancer 2018-2030. Several management points of the Government will be incorporated to attend with HPV.” This is what the minister said.
Earlier, she announced that, regarding the request of the experts to begin a rigid vaccination program, the necessary money was already available on the 2019 budget for a school vaccination program. It will be consulted with the Prevention Foundation, about which is the best vaccine to use.
In the presentation on Saturday, experts said that the HPV situation and its impact on cancer in the mouth of the womb should be addressed urgently.
